At that time, the frequency was 1190 and it was confined to the status of a daytime station for the first years of service before it changed to the 1320 frequency in 1990. CJMR 1320 was proud to carry games for the Toronto Blue Jays.

CJMR 1320 is owned by Trafalgar Broadcasting Ltd., part of the Caine family's independent radio stations. Broadcasting Hall of Fame members Howard and Jean Caine created CHWO in 1956, with the station credited as being one of the first in Canada to carry Multi-Cultural programming.
